• What Could Have Been: This project was originally announced way back in 2013 as a live-action eight-part series for The History Channel. But it turned out that the History Channel doesn't have an HBO-size budget and couldn't make its own Band of Brothers. To save money, the series was made with rotoscoped animation instead of live-action (which produced a distinctive look, praised by critics), and chopped from eight episodes to four (which wound up leaving most of the soldiers as generic background characters, which critics liked a lot less than the animation).
