- Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show was only released on VHS in Australia, long ago. In addition, some people taped the show off the air while others have to resort to bootlegs. Otherwise, NO releases to this day. If you come across this show anywhere, save it. And never lose it.
- The Other Darrin: The first season used a fairly recognisable voice cast, many of which ended up replaced for the lower budget second season. Richard E. Grant was replaced by Rob Brydon as Long John Silver, while Corinna Powlesland replaced Juliet Stevenson as Jane. Perhaps the most unusual is the male John Hasler replacing the actress Dawn French as Jim Hawkins.
- Playing Against Type:
- Rob Rackshaw is largely connected with comical or soft roles in preschool cartoons. Here, he plays the sinister and murderous Big Bad of an ominous action series.
- While Long John Silver is somewhat Laughably Evil, his vicious antagonist performance is still a contrast from the usual work of Welsh comedian Rob Brydon.
