Trivia / The Legend of Tian-ding

Go To

  • The Merch: The Liao Tian-ding plushie. Yep, they really went there.
  • Self-Remake: Maso Lin is the lead developer for this game and it's obscure 2004 Flash game counterpart. In fact, the 2004 version is Lin's graduation project.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The Concept Art by Jerry Liu for the titular character presents some remarkedly... different looks Tian-ding could have.
    • The first draft shows a hooded design that draws out the "sneaky thief" aspects, which was likely scrapped for looking too much like Assassin's Creed. He's also skinnier and nowhere as attractive-looking as the final product.
    • The revised version bears closer resemblance to the game's design, but this incarnation of Tian-ding wears navy instead of light blue and is a Walking Shirtless Scene. It was scrapped again because he looks to "buff" for someone who's supposed to operate with stealth.
    • Unrelated to the concept art, according to Maso Lin the game was originally a historical epic about Koxinga a.k.a Zheng Chenggong, the founder of Taiwan. Lin decides to revisit his older project instead for familiarity's sake.
