- Enforced Method Acting: Coleen Gray and Phillip Terry really got into acting the part of a hateful, loveless couple, to the point that they couldn't even get along on set.
- Old Shame:
- Gloria Talbott (Sally) took her role for the paycheck and didn't think much of the movie. She did admit it was worth the effort since she was able to buy her daughter a horse and saddle with her salary.
- Screenwriter David Duncan, who was brought in to rewrite the script after the original writer was fired, thought the shooting script was "unshootable" and refused to watch the finished movie for years. Seeing it on television years later confirmed his suspicions that it was indeed "awful."
- Averted with Coleen Gray, who despite her tensions with Phillip Terry, had a great time shooting the movie and called the end result "excruciatingly funny." She had no illusions that Leech Woman was a good movie and was completely onboard with its reputation as a camp classic.
