  • Catarina Scerbo, who plays the child version of Nova, is Cassie Scerbo (Nova)'s niece.
• Role Reprise: James Hong appears in the movie credited as Confucius, but his appearance and performance make clear his character is in fact Lo Pan. He even gives a Title Drop to the original film when he appears in the timenado.
• Torch the Franchise and Run: The movie ends with the original Sharknado being undone, which has the effect of all Sharknados being stopped, which closes off the setting and makes it impossible to make another one.
