• Defictionalization: Several pieces of accoutrement from the series have been made available for purchase, including Caeldish currency, Eolian mugs and Talent Pipe pins, and a fully-playable Tak game with board and a variety of piece styles. • Referenced by...: Finnish Symphonic Metal band Nightwish wrote a song about the Edema Ruh for their 2015 album Endless Forms Most Beautiful.
• Schedule Slip: The series is supposed to be a trilogy and author Patrick Rothfuss has suggested he'll write further books in the series after that has concluded. The first book was published in 2007, the second in 2011. As of 2023, there's still no release date for the third, and Rothfuss's own editor publicly posted on Facebook that she thinks he hasn't written a word since 2014, with the only exceptions being some short stories and novellas. After George R. R. Martin, whose glacial writing pace has ascended to mainstream meme, Rothfuss is probably the writer genre fans most associate with Schedule Slip. Rothfuss did release a prologue for the third book in 2021, but a planned live-reading of a follow-up chapter never came to fruition.
