- Development Hell: Just before the first season finished airing in early 2018, it was announced that two more seasons would be produced along with a feature film. Although a trailer for The King of Fighters: Awaken was shown in Summer of 2020, a feature-length film set to be released in 2022, there hasn't been any news regarding new seasons of the series.
- Role Reprise: Most of the voice actors from The King of Fighters XIV returned to voiced their characters in Destiny.
