Trivia / The Game (2006)

• Edited for Syndication: The BET airings mute out all misogynistic terms such as "bitch" and "hoe", as well as the occasional homophobic slur and some sexual terms. There are some exceptions, however, mainly if the scene is trying to prove a point.
  • "The Big Chill" had an instance of an entire line being muted. Tasha Mac says, "That bitch licks her own ass!" when describing a poodle. BET muted the whole sentence, not just "bitch". This is somewhat ironic since this episode was rated TV-PG on its' CW airing, but TV-14 on BET.
• The Other Darrin: The Girlfriends episode features actors Aldis Hodge and Jennifer Baxter in the roles of Derwin Davis and Kelly Pitts, respectively. The parts would be recast with Pooch Hall and Brittany Daniel when The Game was picked up as a series.
• The Other Marty: Cynthia Addai-Robinson was replaced as Melanie Barnett with Tia Mowry after the show was picked up.
• Real-Life Relative: Tia's real brother, Tahj Mowry, portrays her on-screen brother.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The creators wanted it to be a hour long drama when the network became The CW since they were axing all of their sitcoms for hour long dramas. But the network refused, thus cancelling the show.
  • With the fans demanding an hour-long format after season 4 was full of short episodes (some barely cross the 20 minute mark), the creator is seriously considering the transition. Time will tell if season 5 and beyond plans to go that direction.
