Trivia / The Final

Go To

  • Actor Allusion: Whitney Hoy had played a Lovable Alpha Bitch in Friday Night Lights too.
  • Corpsing: The behind the scenes show several people corpsing during the needle scene.
  • Dawson Casting: Several of the "teens," particularly the bullies, were in or close to their mid-20s at the time the film was made, with the actors playing Heather (Julin) and Bernard (Daniel Ross) both 26.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: Justin Arnold had longer hair but buzzed it short to play Bradley.
  • Edited for Syndication: The Syfy Channel edited out the scenes where the students meet at the grain silo - which explains that the outcasts drove them to the party so no one would know where they were going.
  • Enforced Method Acting:
    • During the needle scene, quite a few of the prop needles went through the prosthetic neck and chest and genuinely pierced Daniel Ross in the chest.
    • For Kelli's last scene, the director was standing off camera taunting Laura Ashley Samuels to get genuine expressions of remorse.
  • Executive Meddling: The original poster depicted the outcasts with guns hovering over school girls. After some controversy, they were forced to change it.
  • Fake American: Marc Donato (Dane) is Canadian.
  • Fake Shemp: Doubles were used for the scenes where the outcasts were wearing masks.
  • Reality Subtext: Despite playing a member of the Girl Posse, Whitney Hoy was said to be one of the sweetest cast members. Then Bridget turns out to have Hidden Depths.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The three additional outcasts had more scenes, establishing them as doubles who wear the same costumes to confuse the police. Their scenes were heavily cut down, and the only reference to the subplot is Dane starting the cafeteria scene saying "the triplets will be wearing the same costumes as us".
    • A deleted scene establishes the cop who takes the weed off Bradley and Bernard as someone willing to blackmail pretty women with sexual favours if they get stopped by him.
