Technology Marches On: Zig-zagged. The protagonists store information mainly on microfilm — one of them makes fun of Harlan's collection of paper magazines — which may sound charmingly antiquated to a modern reader. However, Asimov was prescient (or lucky) enough to give a justification: the book states that technological fashions come and go, and people throughout Eternity use very different storage media.
