Trivia / The Dunwich Horror

Go To

  • A 1962 Manga, Chitei no Ashioto by Shigeru Mizuki (of Ge Ge Geno Kitaro), is based on The Dunwich Horror. Aside from characters' names and how the location is moved to Japan, its story is faithful to the original. It is notable for being first appearance of Cthulhu Mythos in manga.
  • Clock Tower (1995) borrows the same basic premise. Through vague but disturbing means, a pair of demonic twins are born. One able to pass for a human being, and the other a gigantic nightmarish horror that is hidden growing larger and stronger. Though a couple traits are inverted. Where Wilbur was a towering adult man while still a young teen, 'Scissorman' is retconned to be in fact a child wearing a mask to give him his bearded appearance, and where Lavinia is used by her father to give birth to the twins in The Dunwich Horror, here it's the mother who uses the father (animalistic and completely mad by the start of the game) to give birth to her demonic sons.
