Go To

  • Late Export for You: The series never broadcast on US television or had a US hone media release. As of 2024, the original series can be found on the Pluto TV VOD.
  • Quietly Cancelled: The second season of the 2019 series was scrapped due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Role Reprise: Terence Hardiman, the actor that played The Headmaster in the 90s show, played him again in a stage musical based on the books. He would later reprise his original role in the 2019 series as well.
  • The Other Darrin: In the 2019 series:
    • Adult Dinah is played by Charlotte Beckett. While the production team hoped they could cast Frances Amey, who portrayed Dinah in the old series, they discovered that she is no longer acting. For the videotape the Headmaster watches with young Dinah, she was portrayed by Jasmine de Goede.
    • Adult Rose is now played by Sally Oliver rather than have Katey Crawford Castin, her actress from the old series, reprise her role.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The 2019 series was originally commissioned as a 5-part series, before being expanded into 10 parts.
    • In one episode of the 2019 series, protestors come to the school and pelt Blake with milkshakes. He was originally going to be pelted by eggs and flour. However, after incidents involving English politicians being pelted by milkshakes from protestors in 2019, it was decided to have Blake pelted by milkshakes rather than the other foods.
    • It was hoped to use a still image of Dinah from the 90s tv series to use on the videotape the kids find of her, but an appropriate clip couldn't be found.
    • The final episode features the Prime Minister coming to the school and it was planned to have it be a caricature of Boris Johnson, who entered that office in 2019. This was eventually decided against on the grounds that Johnson may not have still been Prime Minister by the time the episode aired due to a General Election taking place in the UK in December 2019 a week prior to its airing (Johnson ultimately remained in office).
