Trivia / The Dark Id

Go To

  • According to a post of his in the thread for a Call of Duty: Black Ops Let's Play, Id's father-in-law was a good friend of Robert McNamara, and he personally met the man on multiple occasions.
  • Approval of God: One piece of fanart made for the Drakengard 3 was very much approved of by Yoko Taro after it was tweeted to him.
  • Colbert Bump: His Let's Plays of Drakengard and NieR brought a significant amount of attention (albeit somewhat ironic for the former) to the franchise.
  • Creator Backlash: He once tweeted an apology for the frequent usage of slurs and other such language in his older Let's Plays.
  • Creator Breakdown: Took a long break from his Shadow Hearts: Covenant playthrough due to the sudden death of his daughter.
  • Genius Bonus: Nemesis, who is portrayed as a Pimp, warns Brad that he owed him an unspecified debt due the day the game takes place, which Nemesis identifies as a Monday. September 28, 1998 (when that portion of the game takes place) really was a Monday.
  • Reclusive Artist: Though he does speak of his personal life on occasion, Id seems content on keeping a low profile. He never shows his face, never gave out his real name, and very rarely records his own voice. Id also went as far as to shut down his Twitter account in 2022 for reasons unexplained. As it turns out, that was because almost everything he did say about himself was a lie.
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things:
    • He's had to stop let's plays due to people spoiling not just the game for segments that haven't been talked about yet or in future games, but also for derailing the thread (like going from game mechanics to all of a sudden talking about Batman).
    • Most of the YouTube videos for the death scenes in Resident Evil games had comments disabled. Why? Because a small group of dedicated commentators kept making remarks about how they were getting off to the characters getting violently murdered.
