- Executive Meddling: Welcome to the Monkey House was hit hard with this, with the album being initally mixed by Russell Elevado. Though Capitol Records were unsatisfied with the original mix that they decided to recruit Nick Rhodes from Duran Duran to remix what would've become the final product, much to the band's annoyance. The band would later release the original mix independently in 2009 on the album The Dandy Warhols Are Sound.
- Life Imitates Art: "Welcome To The Monkey House", the Title Track from their 2003 album, contains the line "When Michael Jackson dies, we're covering 'Blackbird'". Sure enough, after the King of Pop's demise in 2009, they put out a "Blackbird" cover.
- One-Hit Wonder:
- "Bohemian Like You" is pretty much the only song they're known for in the United States.
- Veronica Mars fans know them for "We Used to Be Friends", though.
- Writer Revolt: According to Taylor-Taylor, after the relationship with the band and Capitol Records deteriorated with Welcome to the Monkey House, they wrote Odditorium or Warlords of Mars as a fuck you to the label.
