• Dr Asimov's second story written with the goal of professional publication. Third story ever published.
• Rejected from several magazines, finally getting published in Dr Asimov's second year of professional work.
• Science Marches On: The young Dr Asimov may not have been aware that Callisto was airless and too cold for liquid water and therefore unable to support the lifeforms he proposes on one of Jupiter moons.
• Working Title: Dr Asimov used "Stowaway" as the title when he was submitting it to various Science Fiction Pulp Magazines. Editor Frederik Pohl, who accepted it, changed the name for publication.
• Write Who You Know: Dr Asimov named his heroic runaway after his younger brother, Stanley, who was nine rather than thirteen.
