  • Reality Subtext: In 1961, the EEC question was discussed in Norwegian politics for the first time. This movie can be seen as a parable on the subject ("connecting our little community to the greater network..."). As expected, the people rebel against it (and as the film closes, you can see the Norwegian flag being hoisted on a flagpole).
  • Casting Gag: Connecting this movie (or movies) with the Olsen-banden staple. Arve Opsahl had an important role in the original Norwegian version, while Ove Sprogøe had a role in the Danish remake. The two of them went on to become Egon Olsen in the Danish and Norwegian Olsen-banden movies.
