  • Creator Breakdown: Shortly after the release of The Stanley Parable, in February 2014 the real David Wreden published a blog about his mixed feelings about the fame that came from that game being nominated for numerous awards. In The Beginner's Guide, the fictional Wreden is an attention-seeker desperate for validation from fans of the games he shows them. Given the game's message about reading too much into works, one could take this the real-life circumstances as inspiration, or should they?
    • Davey elaborates on this in the Tone Patrol podcast. There is certainly an element of inspiration, including Davey's own need for validation. Fortunately, it's not as extreme as the persona of the in-story Davey, as the real Davey is now in a significantly better place mentally.
