• In Memoriam: In "When Dragons Cry", they go to the cave of the Great Sapphire Dragon of Hillenberg, the name of which is likely an homage to Spongebob Squarepants creator Stephen Hillenberg, who passed away in 2018.
• Working Title: The series was called Brendar the Barbarian in development, before the title was changed to The Barbarian and the Troll, though the pilot's episode's title is still "Brendar the Barbarian".
