Trivia / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures

Go To

  • Development Gag: The wrestling costumes the Turtles wear in #7, 8, and 37 of the comic are based off early designs for the Turtles in the original Mirage comic book.
  • Executive Meddling: Archie Comics didn't like the series' increasingly dark and dramatic tone (which wasn't far off from the original comic), and pulled the plug on the Forever War story arc in favor of a cutesy 2-parter featuring the Turtles as kids. The series was cancelled regardless.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Due to them taking place in China and the Middle East, issues 32 to 37 were not included in IDW's collected reprint of the series. Nor were their covers included in the Cowabunga Collection video game's cover gallery.
  • Stillborn Franchise: Ryan Brown hoped to spinoff The Mighty Mutanimals into its own franchise, connected to the Ninja Turtles property but completely different in style and tone. However, The Mighty Mutanimals spinoff comic was cancelled after nine issues and the proposed TV show never got off the ground. Not wanting the team to be stuck playing second fiddle to the Turtles, Ryan Brown chose to kill all the Mutanimals in the hopes that their deaths would have a lasting impact on the comic.
  • Recursive Adaptation: This comic is an adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987), which is based on the comics Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Mirage).
  • What Could Have Been: Prior to its plans getting axed, the Forever War story arc would have focused on the Turtles' final battle against Shredder.
