• What Could Have Been: According to Peter Laird’s notes for the episode:
  • The Ancient One would’ve simply taken the boys in on the spot for Yoshi giving him the coin until Laird suggested the test.
  • Mortu’s scene where he offers Yoshi and Mashimi to join him as guardians would’ve been a normal dialogue driven one as opposed to Leo narrating, but Laird found Mortu’s dialogue nonsensical and suggested the latter approach.
  • One line that Laird edited was Mashimi declaring “with this betrayal” referring to his defection to the Foot, since in this poor state of mind, Mashimi wouldn’t see his actions as a betrayal.
