- Corpsing: Vaughn is leading some other members of the tribe through the jungle when they hear a loud animal growl in the distance. One of the other tribe members cries that it's an evil god come to get them. Vaughn has a hell of a time keeping a straight face.
- Dawson Casting: Vaughn is closer to a thirtysomething caveman, to be honest. He was born in 1932, so he was about 26.
- Follow the Leader: The plot would be semi-recycled for Battlefield Earth.
- Old Shame: Robert Vaughn hated the film when it was released, calling it "the worst movie ever made". He's softened on it (and honestly, it's not really a bad film, just a B-Movie), and even guest hosted during a Mystery Science Theater 3000 Turkey Day marathon to intro the film.
- Prop Recycling: As was common for Corman movies. The "radiation suit" worn by the ancient scientist also served as the costume for the alien in Night of the Blood Beast; the scenes for both movies featuring the costume were shot within two weeks of each other. Coincidentally, both movies went on to be featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
