• Recycled Soundtrack: Berlioz reused some of the musical material from early, unpublished pieces. The "March to the Scaffold" was written for an unfinished opera, and the idée fixe was originally a theme from his cantata "Herminie," one of his unsuccessful submissions to the Prix de Rome competition.
