- All-Star Cast: Most if not all of the actors in this series are well-known across other media. The bulk of them are alumni of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and/or are famous for their roles in anime (particularly Shannon Chan-Kent, Michael Adamthwaite, and the Dobson brothers). MLP aside, we have the talents of Jan Rabson (who voices Professor Quantum here and is also known, hilariously enough, as the voice of Larry Laffer) and Richard Newman (who voices Moses and has also voiced another famous and less-benevolent leader).
- The Cast Showoff: In "The Promise of a Child," Joy sings the titular song at the community Christmas pageant, with Chris and Gizmo providing instrumental back-up and a choir of kids giving back-up vocals. Shannon Chan-Kent, who is an experienced opera singer, provided Joy's singing voice in doing the lead vocals for that song. (As an aside, fans of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic will immediately know she'd previously shown her singing talent by providing Pinkie Pie's singing voice).
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Gizmo, who's identified as a male robot, and Todd, a male schoolmate at Valleyview Middle School, are both voiced by Cathy Weseluck. Minor recurring character Sam, a heavyset boy, is voiced by Kathleen Barr.
- Dawson Casting: Chris and Joy are tweens (with Joy expressedly stating in one episode that she's 12), and while we're not told how many years it's been since Gizmo's creation, he's likely the same age as or younger than both of them chronologically. Their respective voice actors were much older at the time of the show's debut; Sam Vincent was 40, Shannon Chan-Kent was 23, and Cathy Weseluck was the oldest at 41.
- Direct to Video: The Spin-Off series Gizmo Go!, a partially-animated, partially-live action affair intended to impart simpler lessons upon younger viewers, which stars Gizmo, a human scientist named Miss Tina, and their robot friends at Quantum Labs.
- He Also Did:
- Series writer Sean Roche had previously written for shows that are decidedly non-religious, to include Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987), Alvin and the Chipmunks, and X-Men: Evolution.
- Storyboard artist Jerry Yu Ching has also worked on early computer animated Disney films Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons and the short film Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five.
- Colin Murdock, who voices Superbook, also voiced the Judgeman and the Count in Zoids: New Century, Mari's father in The Cramp Twins, and Bunto and Vertex in RollBots, among other roles.
- Real-Life Relative: Michael and Lucifer are respectively voiced by real-life brothers Brian and Paul Dobson. Their brother Michael voices fellow angel Gabriel and the prophet Elijah.
- The Other Darrin: Cathy Weseluck does not reprise her voice role as Gizmo for either Gizmo Go! or the YouTube and app-exclusive Gizmo's Bible Byte segments. Her replacement voice actress is not credited anywhere, however.
