Trivia / Stripperella

Go To

  • Creator's Oddball: It's odd that Stan Lee, known for creating characters for Marvel Comics like Spider-Man, would write something so crude and erotic.
    • It's also odd that Nick Digital (Nickelodeon Digital) worked on the show, as shown in the end credits. note
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The DVDs from 2005 are now out of print and no streaming websites such as YouTube can play episodes due to Viacom’s strict copyright policy. As of 2020, only Amazon Prime Video is selling the show for digital download.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: One of the factors in the series's downfall was a lawsuit filed against Stan Lee by ex-stripper Janet "Jazz" Clover, who claimed that Lee had stolen the idea from her after she discussed it during a lap dance.
  • Studio Hop: The second half of the series brings in Wang Film Productions as the secondary animation studio of the show, replacing Sunmin Animation.
  • Troubled Production: The lawsuit by Janet Clover put production of the series on hiatus; hence, the changes in the latter half.
  • Wag the Director: According to a 2015 Reddit "Ask Me Anything" thread featuring Pamela Anderson, Stan Lee wanted Stripperella to be even racier than it was with a lot more nudity. But at the time Pam had two young children and wasn't comfortable making a show that was so risqué.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A one-shot promotional Stripperella comic was planned (to be published by Humanoids Publishing), but the comic was canceled due to creative differences between Pamela Anderson and Spike TV.
    • In the earliest stages of the show's development, Stripperella was originally going to be a known as Exotica Jones and she would have been a redhead.
