- Creator Backlash: This series ended because, as stated in the final issue, Capcom themselves didn't like it.
- Disowned Adaptation: So much so that it isn't mentioned in the Timeline section of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection at all. Keep in mind, even the live-action film and its reboot, themselves not held in high regard, were given an acknowledgement in there.
- Dueling Shows: Malibu also did a number of comics based off of Mortal Kombat, which lasted a lot longer than this series did.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Capcom's dislike of this adaptation, and UDON's own comic, makes chances of reprints pretty low.
- What Could Have Been: It is even the name of an ending section in the third issue. The third issue included letters from the writers detailing their plans for future issues, including Ken surviving, Ryu and Chun-Li would have ended up as a couple, Sagat would have redeemed himself for siding with Bison, and it would have been revealed that Bison had conspired with "dark forces" to create evil doubles of the various street fighters around the world, one of which (an evil double of Ryu) had killed Nida's father, this being the reason for her grudge against him.

Interestingly, these comics were published in Brazil in the mid-
1990s, but after the series ended, the publisher decided to carry on with local artists while continuing the numbering, by adapting
Super Street Fighter II instead. Issues 4 and 5 tried to pick up the slack, with stories alluding to the American comics' events (hinting that Ken could really be
Not Quite Dead during a conversation between Chun-Li and Ryu) but already straying from the canon they established in Fei Long and Cammy's introductions. From 6 onwards, new editor Alexandre Nagado decided to just throw everything Malibu had done to the license into the trashcan and start anew, with Ken being alive and well, characterization closer to the games (except Sagat wasn't much of a
Noble Demon, as later issues would show) and a
Tournament Arc based on
SSFII in the first three issues (i.e. 6, 7 and 8). This series then followed through with a few multi-issue stories, going through some hectic
Schedule Slips until it stopped publishing in issue 20, with an
Aborted Arc centered around Akuma that ended in a
Cliffhanger.
