- Refitted for Sequel: According to Word of God, Steven going into Pearl's pearl was actually a very early episode idea back when it was thought the series would not return after the end of Season 1A. This ultimately became "Monster Reunion" with a different method, with Steven walking in on a Gem transforming into Rose being another Season 1 episode. Both were reworked into this episode.

were showcased at the New York Toy Fair. Among those shown were Pink Diamond's full form and Pearl in her outfit from when she was the aforementioned's Pearl. - Working Title: A Single White Rose was the conceptualized title for the episode.
