  • Creator Backlash: Considered very much so by Brad Wright, which is why he put together the "final cut" version in 2009.
  • What Could Have Been: The original pilot script shows some major changes from the series:
    • The original script reveals some changes from what we got on screen. Some of the most notable ones:
    • Apophis went by the name "Apep" and reactivated Earth's Stargate with a hand device that shot a beam of energy into a hole at the top of the Stargate.
    • The Jaffa, as hosts to the "gods", are referred to as demigods (matching the film where Daniel showing that they are mortal is a major turning point). When the invading Jaffa are killed, their symbiotes leap out into Apep's arms and he tenderly cradles them.
    • Cpt. Samantha Carter was named "Lt. Samantha Clayman". She didn't care much for the Air Force, only joining to pay for grad school and staying when she learned about the Stargate.
    • General Hammond is described as an African American “tough as nails career military man (think Colin Powell).”
    • The stargate of Chulak was atop a snowy mountain.
    • In the prison, O'Neill gets into a fist fight with "the primitive" (who is still in the filmed version as a particularly unruly prisoner and credited by that name) and Clayman uses her martial arts training before Teal'c broke up the fight, which was their first introduction.
    • Teal'c turns on his comrades more impulsively and lacks the line "Many have said that — but you are the first I believe could do it!"
    • Skaara's implantation was on-screen and he was tied to an altar in front of the Stargate before the climactic battle.
    • A Jaffa managed to partly get through Earth's Stargate before being sliced in half by the closing iris, then a pair of concrete doors kept as a backup measure crushed what remained.
    • A symbiote leaped out as in the film version, but only attached to the clothing of Corporal Warren (under Kawalski's command). It is discovered, O'Neill shoots it, and Daniel finally crushes it under his boot in contempt.
    • Earth's Stargate was also protected by concrete doors, which in the script crushes the remains of a Jaffa who got sliced by the closing iris.
