Trivia / Star Wars: The Clone Wars S5E16 "The Lawless"

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Clancy Brown also voices the guard who gets into the elevator with Obi-Wan and Satine.
  • Executive Meddling: A positive example. James Arnold Taylor, Obi-Wan's voice actor, argued that Obi-Wan should be more vocal when Satine is killed, saying it felt out-of-character to have him simply react instead of saying anything. The directors successfully convinced him that the expressions on his face alone would sell his emotions and indeed the animation in that scene portrays some of the most heartbreaking emotions in the entire series.
  • In Memoriam: This episode was dedicated to Ian Abercrombie, the voice actor for Palpatine/Darth Sidious, who had passed away one year prior to the episode's airing. His lines in this episode were some of the last he ever recorded.
  • Two Voices, One Character: Sidious' final lines are noticeably provided by Tim Curry, rather than the unfortunately-passed Abercrombie. Curry's lines were likely recorded after the initial production in order to confirm that Maul doesn't die.
