• What Could Have Been: This episode was originally envisioned as a Two-Part Episode, but it was pared down to a single episode. (No wonder we never see the Vaadwaur children!) The writers then changed their minds again, but by then they didn't have time to make a new script, so they threw in a Sequel Hook at the end... which was never followed up on (at least, not in the series itself; they would eventually show up again in Star Trek Online).
