Trivia / Star Trek: Voyager S3E8 "Future's End"

Go To

  • Filming Location Cameo: A temporal version, where the crew happen to be in Los Angeles and in 1996.
  • Recycled Script: A Starfleet crew go back in time to contemporary Earth, and despite their technological superiority have to wildly improvise, requiring the assistance of an attractive female scientist from the era (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home).
  • What Could Have Been:
    • This was originally going to be a three-part episode, with the option of possibly being expanded to four parts. Brannon Braga revealed that one scene cut from the original three parts featured Tuvok and Paris getting trapped in a convenience store while it was ambushed by angry gang members. Also the Arizona militia that capture Chakotay and Torres had a larger role that had to be condensed down once the episodes became two parts.
    • Rain was going to go back with the crew and become a recurring character. Rick Berman flatly vetoed the idea, but years later admitted it probably could have been pretty interesting. Though it's also largely a moot point, as Sarah Silverman has said she likely would have turned it down, as she was wary of getting stuck in a long term contract.
