• Real Life Writes the Plot: According to Mack, this was why his TOS/Vanguard crossover novel In Harm's Way takes place during the events of Precipice. Mack admits trying to find an opportunity for a new, untold team-up between the two crews was understandably difficult due to how tightly Vanguard had been plotted to fit into the events of the TOS timeline. While going back over the Vanguard timeline, Mack gradually realized Precipice offered the best window (between its year-long narrative and, by sheer chance, the whereabouts of the Sagittarius during that year having fallen through the cracks while writing the novel over a decade earlier).
• Working Title: A humorous one. For a while, What Judgements Come was fondly known as The Taurus Key: A Crystalline Fairy Tale, Founded Upon The Mysteries of the Shedai and the Oppression of Their Servants. It Was Written for Kollotuul, but Others Should Read It, riffing off of L. Frank Baum's The Master Key: An Electrical Fairy Tale Founded upon the Mysteries of Electricity and the Optimism of Its Devotees. It Was Written for Boys, but Others May Read It.
