  • Acting for Two: Brent Spiner as Data and Lore, one last time.
  • California Doubling: Lore's Rogue Borg compound is The House of the Book performance hall and library building at the American Jewish University, Brandeis-Bardin Campus in Simi Valley, California, which also appeared as the site of the Khitomer Peace Conference in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and, more notably, as the Power Rangers' Command Center in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
  • Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: In addition to Stephen Hawking's appearance As Himself, one of the Borg drones crippled by Lore's experiments is played by real-life amputee Craig Reed.
  • What Could Have Been: The Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual featured a landing sequence for the Enterprise-D saucer section. Ronald D. Moore, Brannon Braga, and Jeri Taylor were inspired by this and wanted the sixth season to end with the saucer section crash landing on an alien planet. However, it was deemed too expensive for a television budget. They eventually got to implement their original idea a year later.
