Trivia / Star Trek: The Next Generation S2E16 "Q Who"

• First Appearance: The Borg make their very first on-screen appearance.
• Never Work with Children or Animals: The baby playing the baby Borg kept chewing on its cable. While some crew thought it was cute, the director kept at it until he got a take where the baby left it alone.
• Throw It In!: Q's iconically chilling "Oh please" when blamed for the deaths of the eighteen crewmembers was an ad-lib by John de Lancie. The original dialogue was much hammier ("Stop, or you will surely die.") but DeLancie and the director wanted to get away from playing Q that way.
• What Could Have Been: Sonya Gomez was meant to be a reoccurring Plucky Comic Relief character, and a future Love Interest for Geordi, but she only has a minor part in one more episode. Conflicting reports say that either actress Lycia Naff was dropped for taking the infamous role as the three-breasted hooker in Total Recall (1990), or the producers gave up on her subplot with Geordi. According to Naff herself, a haircut she mistakenly got before doing retakes didn't exactly endear her to the production team.
