Trivia / Star Trek S2 E13 "Obsession"

• Deleted Scene: Although Lt. Leslie is killed by cloud creature, he is seen later in the episode walking in the background. According to Eddie Paskey, a scene was written in which Leslie and the others killed by creature are revived by Dr. McCoy but it was not filmed.
• Inspiration for the Work: Art Wallace based the story on Moby-Dick.
• You Look Familiar: Jerry Ayres, whose character Rizzo was killed by the cloud creature, also played Ensign O'Herlihy in "Arena", another doomed red shirt character. He had his hair dyed lighter in this appearance, to lessen the resemblance.
