Trivia / Star Trek: Deep Space Nine S07E22 "Tacking into the Wind"

Go To

  • Blooper: Sort of, although it was technically after filming wrapped. After the scene where Gowron is killed, Robert O'Reilly was unable to get up on his own, a common problem for actors in full Klingon costumes. He asked Michael Dorn (Worf) for help but Dorn had already left the set, prompting O'Reilly to remark, "Boy, once they kill you off, they forget all about you!"
  • Creator Couple: Luaran is played by Kitty Swink, wife of Armin Shimerman.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A scene scripted, but not shot, would have had Ezri ask Worf what it felt like to be at the pinnacle of Klingon society, with Worf responding that he wished his father could have been there to see it.
    • There was considerable debate among the writers as to what Gowron's final fate should be, and whether he would either undergo a Heel Realization and back down, whether to have him deposed and discommendated (in what would have been an Ironic Echo of what he previously did to Worf in the latter's first appearance on this show), or be killed by Worf. While either of the other two options might have been taken earlier in the series, the fact that they were so near the end of the show's run caused them to pick the last option.
  • You Look Familiar: Kitty Swink portrayed the Bajoran minister in "Sanctuary".
