• Creator Backlash: René Echevarria and Armin Shimerman are not fond of this episode.
• What Could Have Been: According to Morn's actor (Mark Allen Sheperd), the Writers considered killing Morn for real early on in the episode's development. Sheperd says it was the late Penny L. Juday (Art Department Coordinator and Trek Archivist) who convinced them not to bump off the barfly.
  Penny L. Juday: You can't kill Morn off. If you do that, you would be killing off your mascot. The fans love Morn!
• You Look Familiar: Gregory Itzin returns to Deep Space Nine as Hain, having previously played Ilon Tandro in "Dax". He would go on to appear as an alien doctor in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Critical Care" and as a Vulcan captain and mirror-universe admiral in two episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise.
