• Ascended Fanfic: The Canadian and Australian factions are both based on Game Mods made official.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: The HMMWV was originally intended as a vehicle for the US Army faction, but it was removed from the game due to potential legal issues regarding the Humvee as a trademarked product, as AM General had filed a complaint against Call of Duty over the use of the vehicle in that game. This was resolved in April 2020, when a court ruled in favor of Call of Duty on the basis that their use of the Humvee had proper context and artistic merit, and Squad followed suit by reintroducing the Humvee as a vehicle for the Insurgents^note and named it "Shitty Technical", before adding them to the US Marine Corps about a year later.
• What Could Have Been:
  • As mentioned under Screwed by the Lawyers, the HMMWV was intended to be used by the US Army, but possible legal issues led to its replacement with the Oshkosh M-ATV.
  • The Remote Weapons System variant of the FV432 was planned to use the same .50 cal weapon as its open-top counterpart, but it was replaced with the weaker GPMG for its final release after the .50 cal proved to be a bit too strong.
• Working Title: The People's Liberation Army was previosly known as "PanAsia" during its development, leading many players to believe that the developers would go the Anonymous Ringer route in depicting the Chinese military. The final release opt for the PLA name instead.
