• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Although it has never been released on VHS and DVD in North America, it has been released on VHS (though not on DVD) in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Australia. However, VHS copies from the United Kingdom and Australia have gone out of print for many years but they still sometimes shows up on auction sites.
• The Other Darrin: With the exception of Dody Goodman reprising her role as Mrs. Stimler, none of the original actors came back to reprise their roles. In the sequel, Allen Bauer (originated by Tom Hanks) is played by Todd Waring; Madison (originated by Daryl Hannah) is played by Amy Yasbeck; and Freddie Bauer (originated by John Candy) is played by Donovan Scott.
• Refitted for Sequel: Madison’s ability to conjure up images by twirling her finger in water appeared in an earlier draft of Splash, in which she twirled her finger in a glass of water producing the image of the sea hag she had encountered in a sunken ship earlier telling her the “rules”^note The sea hag ended up getting cut from the original movie due to test audiences finding her scenes “very low-key and foreboding”, as well as clashing with the film’s tone, causing her dinner date Allen to get suspicious and think that he was hallucinating a fish inside her glass cup.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Splash, Too was originally going to be released theatrically in Christmas 1985^note The Little Mermaid (1989) was pitched in January 1985, but was initially rejected in favor of Disney developing Splash, Too, thus the timeline adds up. However, for some reason, the Disney executives instead decided to turn Splash, Too into a Made-for-TV Movie that would air on the Disney Sunday Movie in 1988 and thus serve as a “backdoor” pilot for a weekly Splash TV series that ultimately went unproduced.
