Trivia / Spawn of Possession

  • Development Hell: Within the 20 years they've been around, they've only released three albums, with an average of a 5 year gap. This was ultimately what ended the band, as Bryssling felt that, in light of how long it was taking to get basically anything related to the fourth full-length done, there was no point in trying to devote increasingly scarce time and energy towards an album that realistically wasn't ever going to happen either way, so he put both the album and the band out of their misery.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Christian Muenzner.
  • Short-Lived, Big Impact: Their main period of activity was from 2003 to 2006, and aside from the release of Incurso in 2012 and one tour in support of it, they were not really an active band despite their best efforts to be. They have, however, still managed to be a major influence on a lot of modern tech acts, with acts like The Faceless, Revocation, Arkaik, Archspire, and First Fragment all citing them as a major influence.
  • Troubled Production: Incurso had this thanks to near-constant lineup changes between 2006 and 2010.
