Trivia / Solar Wind

• Many of the character designs throughout the series were changed, scrapped, or even pulled from entirely different works. For example:
  • Umid was originally one of four main characters in a different comic of Griffin's, "Melancholy Springs," which never came to fruition. Once he was introduced to Solar Wind, he was Demoted to Extra, and took on a much more Jerkass role.
  • Declan was a combination of two characters who never made it into the series, Devin and Brendan. Brendan's character design was eventually used for Benji, and Devin's was used for Jaden's sophomore friend, Sammy Chau.
• Griffin put out a list of all of the main (Earthly) characters' birthdays, as well. Those are:
  • Annie: 12/7/2001
  • Benji: 10/18/2001
  • Chico: 2/5/2002
  • Declan: 11/13/2001
  • Mabel: 12/3/2001
  • Jaden: 5/20/2003
  • Umid: 10/1/2001
  • Zeb: 3/14/2002
