- Creator Backlash: Daniel Johns doesn't consider Frogstomp and Freak Show to be Silverchair albums, likening them to "your old high school band that you look back on and say 'That's cute'" (which it kind of was).
- It should be noted, however that Ben Gillies has stated that he still loves the first two albums the band produced.
- Creator Breakdown: Daniel Johns became seriously depressed and fell victim to the eating disorder Anorexia Nervosa in the late 1990's, then, just as he was getting over it, developed a serious case of reactive arthritis that prevented him from playing or performing for almost a year. He has since recovered fully from both disorders.
- Development Hell: They were recording tracks for a new album in 2009 in a "secret location", however their split in 2011 means that they will probably never see the light of day.
- What Could Have Been: Daniel Johns wanted to reunite Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou for a track under his solo moniker for his 2022 album FutureNever. The two have declined.
