• What Could Have Been: Derek's departure was supposed to lead into a spinoff starring Jason Bateman. But due to issues with this show's creators (who each had other shows that they didn't want going up against a show spun-off from this one) who technically still owned the Derek character, the planned spinoff was rewritten into the short-lived series It's Your Move.
