- Banned in Australia: At least until a few changes were made to make some scenes seem less violent. Even then, only the PS3 version was released.
- The same thing in Germany when German authorities banned the game's UK version from being sold.
- Blooper: The map for the Grand Hotel labels the third floor as the "3nd" floor.
- No Export for You: To date, Homecoming is the only Silent Hill game to not be released in Japan, although the game's music was eventually released as part of a soundtrack compilation.
- What Could Have Been:
- Walter Sullivan would've made an appearance, possibly in a recording. The recording was ultimately cut out, but you can find the audio clip in the PC version of the game.
- The whole concept for Homecoming was originally vastly different; it was originally conceived as the first in a trilogy of games about Josh and Alessa fighting for control of Silent Hill, with Heather getting involved at some point.
- At one point, the character who became Elle was intended to be a grown-up Laura from Silent Hill 2, with her even being introduced wearing James' jacket (which would have been a pretty obvious case of Cutting Off the Branches when 2 wasn't meant to have a canon resolution), but this was scrapped.
