  • Approval of God: Many ex-Spumco staffers, including Bob Camp, have contributed to and given their approval of the book. John Kricfalusi, unsurprisingly, was not one of these people (the book does not paint him in a flattering light and he's made it clear that he hates the author and anyone who would dare approve of it in any way).
  • Disowned Adaptation:
    • Series creator John Kricfalusi absolutely abhors the book and the unflattering light it paints him in. He not only refused to have any part of it, he even took snipes at Thad Komorowski on his blog in the post "Fanboy Admission and Genetics", drawing a disparaging caricature of him as an acne ridden and angry, troll nosed puppet and giving it the incredibly mean-spirited caption "Puppet Aspergers" (Thad himself had the doodle colorized and used as his pic for a while). He's also made it a point to cut ties with anyone who says anything positive about it, most notably animation historian Jerry Beck, whose glowing review in Cartoon Brew opened with his acknowledgment that this would happen.
    • Both Eddie Fitzgerald and Mike Fontanelli, who worked on both entries of the series and are two of of the only collaborators John K. hasn't cut ties with, accused Thad Komorowski of deliberately painting a false picture of both John himself and the history of how the show was really made. Fitzgerald went on at length about it in his review on Amazon and personal blog (though if Thad's account is anything to go by, he and Fitzgerald already had a bad relationship due to Fitzgerald making derogatory statements about Thad's autism).
