  • Completely Different Title:
    • Is known as De Sista Äventyrarna (The Last Adventurers) in Swedish.
    • Parole d'homme (meaning more or less "A man's word") in French.
  • Hostility on the Set: Lee Marvin was dismissive of Roger Moore's masculinity leading to tensions between the two, which only got heightened because Marvin was drunk a lot of the time. This came to a head on the day they were supposed to shoot their fight scene. Marvin came to set steaming drunk and, in his haze, thought that Moore was going to throw a real punch so he hit back for real. This led to a real scuffle between the two and Marvin learned not to underestimate Moore from then on.
"Moore may not look it, but he is built like granite."
  • Fake Nationality: Ian Holm as Mohammed.
  • Saved from Development Hell: The movie was first announced in 1969, six years before it was eventually filmed. At that time, publicity stated that the film would be made by Cinerama, Inc. But in the end, the movie took several years to get financed, and was not shot in Cinerama.
  • Uncredited Role: Julian Holloway as the voice of Kapitän zur See Heinrich Graf von Kleine.
