- Executive Meddling: Shining Force III was a major casualty of the complete trainwreck that was the SEGA Saturn, having only the first part released in English due to the Dreamcast coming out. This pissed off their developers so much that they split with Sega, formed Camelot Software Planning, signed a deal with Nintendo and made the Golden Sun series. Oops.
- There were numerous videos with footage, or just talking about, the game on YouTube until Sega forced a complete purge for little to no official reason. Fans were furious.
- Mythology Gag: Towards the end of Scenario 1, you have the option of hiring mercenaries, for the final battle. These are Twiggy, Dongo, Elric and Piper, the Japanese names of the four potential characters you could recruit from Creed's Mansion in Shining Force II
- No Export for You: Scenarios 2 & 3, and the Premium Disc.
- Real-Life Relative: Ryotaro Okiayu (Synbios) is married to Ai Maeda (Masqurin).
