- Outdated by Canon: Shadows Over Hell premiered on 2022 and finished on June 2023, before Hazbin Hotel aired on Amazon Prime, so there are a few notable elements that are now outdated. The most notable examples include Vaggie being a sinner rather than a fallen exorcist angel and Lucifer being a lot more sadistic, cruel, and cunning than his canonical, depressed, and anxiety-ridden, not-to-mention divorced version.
- Schedule Slip: While the chapters were originally posted on a weekly basis note , the weekly updates became more sparse around Chapter 50. Eventually, the author declares at Chapter 53 that due to needing more time, the updates will no longer be weekly. The last remaining chapters were released on a monthly basis before concluding on 21 June 2023.
- What Could Have Been: Chapter 14 would've featured a more elaborate scene of Blitzo & Stolas confronting and killing Richard Dees, before the author settled for a simple bit of Stolas having already petrifying him offscreen.
- Word of God: The author has confirmed that this version of Stella won't be putting any hit on Stolas this time around.
