Trivia / Shadow Raiders

• Recycled Set: The Prison Planet episodes reused Mainframe from ReBoot to pad out backgrounds. In turn, Jungle Planet reappeared as the planet Regalis V in Beast Machines (where Botanica picked up her plant form).
• Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy: There is very little in this cartoon that looks like stuff from the toyline it was based on, apart from some of the vehicles, including the aliens. The Ice people, for instance, were mantis-like rather than humanoid and the Bone people were basically green Giger Aliens with guns. What's strange is that some toy designs got used for completely different things. The Planet Rock toy became one of Rock's moons and Tek was used as the basis for Vox. Trendmasters later began to issue figures based on the show characters with the Shadow Raiders name to at least partially rectify this.
  • This may have played a role in the series' cancellation; it was noted by a Mainframe employee that the show got good ratings, but the toys weren't selling well in Canada (probably because of the name confusion and the aforementioned lack of show accuracy in many cases), and it's not clear if the Shadow Raiders toys were actually sold in the US.
• What Could Have Been: A third season was planned, which likely would have had the heroes actually achieve a meaningful victory over the Beast Planet. More about the Beast Planet's origins and how they tied into the Precursors who built all the artificial planets would've likely been a part of this too.
