- Spiritual Successor: Interestingly enough, it found one in the form of Dead Rising which was supposed to be the sequel to Shadow of Rome. Once this fell through due to the poor sales of the first title, Dead Rising was reworked into the game we all know today. Many core gameplay mechanics and designs, as well as things like the Artificial Stupidity of the allied AI, transferred over surprisingly intact.
