- Accidentally-Correct Writing:
- Apparently, Cinderella's fantasy castle from the Disney Theme Parks has a defensive layout that would have been great in Real Life Middle Ages.
- Upon analysis, the design of the Crucible Sword from Doom Eternal turned out to, for once, not be impractical in the slightest. Some of the video's commenters have even made comparisons to the video where he analyzes the lightsaber in a similar manner and speculated that Doom's devs watched it and took Shad's advice.
- In his Fight Scene Autopsy on the fight between Geralt and Renfri from The Witcher (2019), Shad comments on the part where Geralt breaks Renfri's guard with a particularly powerful strike. He points out that Renfri did not have good structure in her block, that is, she tried to block while her arms were bent rather than fully extended, which would absorb the impact better. Because of this, it was much easier for Geralt to break her guard. Shad muses that the crew very likely did this for the sake of good choreography and to show that Geralt is much stronger, but it plays out accurately anyway.
- He Also Did: Shad is also the author of a Dungeon Punk novel called Shadow of the Conqueror.
- Life Imitates Art: The Functional Fandom series of videos, where Shad and his friends take a look at something from pop-culture (such as floating down a river in a barrel, eating like Hobbits, weapons sticking to a character's back, etc.) and attempt to pull it off in real life.
- Screwed by the Network: Shad has made a few videos arguing that the decline in views for his videos is because YouTube has been reducing how many people see his videos, including not appearing in subscribers' home tab.
